I. Overview
Our active sand filter is a continuous filtration equipment integrating flocculation, clarification and filtration, which is widely used in drinking water, industrial water, sewage deep treatment and reclaimed water reuse treatment fields. The system adopts upflow fluidized bed filtration principle and single homogeneous filter material. Filtration and sand washing are carried out simultaneously. It can run continuously and automatically for 24 hours without stopping backwashing. The ingenious sand extraction and sand washing structure replaces the traditional high-power backwashing system with extremely low energy consumption. The system does not need maintenance, management is simple, can be unattended. Active sand filtration system consists of concrete filter, sand filter guide device, filter assembly, sand washer, inlet pipe, air riser, filtrate outlet pipe and flushing water outlet pipe. Flexible connections are used between the internal filter units and the corresponding pipes. Compressed air supplied by the compressed air system is connected to the top of the filter through an air hose via an air control cabinet. The filter sand at the bottom of the filter reaches the sand washer at the top of the filter by means of the air lift pump located in the center of the filter. The dirty particles are separated from the filter sand by turbulence, and impurities are discharged through the cleaning water outlet. The cleaned filter sand falls back to the sand bed.
II.Process principle
Activated sand filter is a set of coagulation, clarification, filtration as one of the efficient filter, it does not need to stop backwashing; single-stage filter material, no grading, no uneven hydraulic distribution and the initial filtrate and other problems; do not need backwashing pump and its shutdown switching electric, pneumatic valve; do not need to set up coagulation, clarification tank, no coagulation, clarification with mechanical equipment. Therefore, the occupied area is more compact and the operating cost is more economical. Raw water enters the filter through the water inlet pipe, and is evenly distributed by the water distributor, then flows upward through the filter material layer and is discharged outward. In this process, raw water is filtered, and the content of pollutants in the water is reduced; at the same time, the content of pollutants in the quartz sand filter increases, and the content of pollutants in the lower filter layer is higher than that in the upper filter layer. The air lift pump located in the center of the filter lifts the quartz sand filter material at the bottom to the sand washer at the top of the filter under the action of the air compressor. After cleaning, the filter sand returns to the filter bed, and the pollutants generated by cleaning are discharged.
Because quartz sand filter material in the filter is in a state of movement from top to bottom, it has a stirring effect on raw water, so stirring flocculation can be completed in the filter. The filter material in the filter is clean and timely, and can withstand high concentration of influent pollutants. Active sand filter special internal structure and its own characteristics, can make coagulation, clarification, filtration in the same pool body can be completed.
Active sand filtration system consists of concrete pool with corresponding structure, conical sand filtration guide device, internal filtration unit, water inlet pipeline, filtrate outlet pipeline, flushing water outlet pipe, elastic connection between internal filtration unit and corresponding pipeline, air compressor and control system.
The internal filter unit consists of inlet and outlet pipes, water distributor, sand washing device, flushing water outlet pipe and air lift pump casing. The inlet and outlet pipes and the flushing water outlet pipe are positioned at the upper part of the filter unit.

5, the head loss is small, due to the use of single-stage filter media and filter media clean in time, so the active sand filter head loss is very small.
6, the influent water quality requirements are loose, can withstand the long-term concentration of 150mg/L SS influent water quality and effluent water quality unchanged.
7, the filtration effect is good, the effluent water quality is stable. Filter material is clean and timely, which can ensure high quality and stable effluent effect without periodic water quality fluctuation.
8. Easy to rebuild. The unit operation mode adopted by the activated sand filter can flexibly increase or decrease the number of filters according to the change of water volume, and is easy to expand and expand.
