I. Overview
Mechanical filteris a kind of pressure filter, generally used as river water purification, tap water treatment, groundwater treatment and reclaimed water reuse, sewage treatment and other mechanical filtration equipment. The filter media of mechanical filter are divided into quartz sand filter, activated carbon filter, multi-media filter, manganese sand filter (iron and manganese filter), fiber ball filter, mechanical filter material is divided into stainless steel mechanical filter and carbon steel mechanical filter. Second, mechanical filter classification
1,quartz sand filter
Quartz sand filter is generally used as a pretreatment for pure water equipment and ultrafiltration equipment,whichis mainly through the filter layer sediment, colloid, metal ions and organic matter interception, adsorption. Commonly used in general water treatment, because of its pollution-free, low price, low operating cost, so it is widely used.
2.Activated carbon filter
Activated carbon is a very fine carbon particles with large pores per unit area, usuallycalled capillarypores. This capillary has a strong adsorption capacity, due to the large surface area of carbon particles, in full contact with impurities in water. These impurities can be adsorbed in the pores, thereby removing impurities such as colloids in the water. Activated carbon can also adsorb CL ions and ozone in water, and also has a certain adsorption ability for organic matter in water. It can obviously adsorb pigments in water. In the water treatment industry, we generally require iodine values of more than 700mg.
3.Multi-media filter
Multi-media filter, as its name implies, is filled with multiple and more than two kinds of filter media called multi-media filter, multi-media filter used in water treatment, common multi-media filter media are: anthracite, ceramsite, quartz sand, activated carbon and so on. The filter layer design of multi-media filters generally requires that the particle size of the lower filter material is smaller than that of the upper filter material to ensure the effectiveness and full utilization of the lower filter material. The density of the upper layer should be small to ensure layered recovery after backwashing. If the density of the upper layer is small, the upper filter material will sink to the lower layer after backwashing. Take the two-layer filter bed as an example, the upper filter material particles are large, the density is small, the light filter material composition, such as anthracite, activated carbon; the lower filter material particle size is small, the density is large, generally composed of quartz sand; the upper filter material plays a coarse filtration role, under the resistance, under the head loss, the lower filter material plays a fine filtration role, and the sewage interception capacity is strong, so that the role of the multi-medium filter bed is fully exerted, that is, under the head loss, the filtration effect is good, and the advantages of each layer are fully delivered.
4, iron and manganese filter
Iron and manganese filter is also known asmanganese sand filter, mainly relying on its own manganese sand catalytic role, there is a layer of iron filter gradually formed on the surface of manganese sand filter as an active filter during filtration, which can play a catalytic role. The newly formed iron oxide, as active filter material, participates in the new catalytic iron removal process, so the iron removal process of active filter membrane is an automatic catalytic process. Mainly used for groundwater treatment, circulating water treatment grade sewage treatment, etc.
5. Fiber ball filter
Fiber ballfilter, as its name implies, is the filter with fiber balls inside, it is also a kind of pressure mechanical filter, fiber ball filter fiber ball porosity accounts for about 93% of the filter layer.
